Love reading but can’t get to the library?

E-books not your thing?  If you are not able to visit your library , the library may be able to come to you.  This service is free and will deliver books and music to your home if you are eligible; ie if you can’t leave your home, have a short or long term illness or manage vision/hearing loss.  It’s really easy. Once you are “in the system” the library (Lenzie Library if you live locally) will contact you to discuss your reading preferences.  If you would like to listen to music or watch DVDs this will also be noted.  Thereafter you will receive visits about once a month from a local volunteer who will deliver your selection.  All library materials can be borrowed: fiction and non-fiction books, large print, hardback, paperback, audio CDs and Playaway (a small device which plays a pre-recorded book); DVDs; and even books and DVDs in languages other than English (if available).  Interested?  Call Outreach and Access at the East Dunbartonshire Home Library Service (part of East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture) on 0141 777 3143 or ask a friend or neighbour to pop into the local library to collect a form for you.  Happy reading!
