A wedding dress and flower festival is being held in Lenzie Union Parish Church on Friday and Saturday, 24th and 25th April.

Times 2 – 4 pm and 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Friday and 10 am till 3 pm on Saturday.

Dresses representing each decade from the 1930s through to 2014 will be on display and the Lenzie and District Flower Club are creating beautiful floral arrangements to accompany them.

As well as the displays to be viewed there will be tea, coffee and home baking to enjoy. So make a date to take a trip down memory lane when we open on 24th April.

All profits from the event will be donated to the CrossReach ‘Heart for Art’ project which helps people suffering from Dementia to enhance their social skills and improve their quality of life through art.

This New Year Lenzie Jog attracted a record number of registrations.  The weather was pretty cold with a nasty shower at the beginning, but the winning time for the 8.6k route (we think) was 28 mins 58 seconds, clocked by Graham Anderson.  This was all of 5 seconds faster than last year’s winning time.  The number of runners attempting the double route was up 9% on last year.

Good times were achieved in the shorter races also and you can read provisional results for all three distances by clicking 2015 Jog results draft

The photo was from last year – but if anybody has a photo from this year, despite the weather, we would be glad to use it.
