carol singers cartoonSaturday 6 December will be another festive occasion for the people of Lenzie when our Christmas lights will be switched on by our 2014 Gala Queen, Emily Dick.  But before that there will be carols in front of Lenzie Old Parish Church from 5 pm and all Lenzie residents are invited to come along and join in. Kirkintilloch Kelvin Brass will be providing the music and the Lenzie Christian Fellowship will be there to help us along, to make sure we manage a really rousing rendition of all our favourite carols.  To ensure everyone is feeling festive in the run up to Christmas, we will be joined in person by Father Christmas, who has promised to arrive in good time for the official switching on of the Christmas Lights at 5.30 prompt.  After the official proceedings, refreshments will be available in the Church Hall so do come along and warm up with some tea or coffee.

GlasgowHospital_005_Adult Hospital Main EntranceMark McAllister of Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS made a very informative presentation, at the Community Council AGM, on current hospital developments, focused on the new South Glasgow Hospital on the Southern General site.  The new hospital complex will include a Children’s Hospital, replacing Yorkhill.  You can see all the details for yourself by clicking ‘SGUH Presentation Nov 2014‘.

The presentation has a useful map of Greater Glasgow, showing where services will be retained or moved to the new site.  Facilities in the new hospital are outlined, together with transport options and project timelines.
