Lenzie Moss & Lenzie Primary Merger – Update

lenmoss

The Scottish Government has confirmed that it needs no further information about the proposal to merge these two schools in Lenzie and the plan can now move ahead to the design stage.  East Dunbartonshire Council state that staff, parents and pupils will all be involved in the design process.

Design and development will be based on the national reference design adopted for the new Lairdsland Primary School beside the Canal in Kirkintilloch. An interesting walk-through video and image gallery for this design can be found on the East Dunbartonshire website.  Particular features of the reference design, which will be carried forward to the Lenzie school, include ready access to the external area and to outdoor teaching facilities.  The building will maximise natural light and ventilation and be energy efficient.
