Around 160 runners turned up for the 2011 Lenzie New Year Jog. Up until the day before the event, ice-bound walkways threatened cancellation for a second year running.
However, the sheer determination of Ada Stewart, on the right of the picture at the finish line, mobilised the resources of Kirkintilloch Olympians and friends who chipped away the ice and gritted and salted enough of the path to make a safe running track.
There had to be alterations to the longer routes but it was a still a great event run by children, adults and several dogs. See the Kirkintilloch Herald for more pictures. If you were one of the runners, click here for 2011 Lenzie Jog results.
