Lenzie Library

Lenzie Community Council has been made aware of news that there is a proposal to close Lenzie Library. We discussed this at the November meeting and had the benefit of input from various sources.

Libraries are not run by East Dunbartonshire Council directly but by the East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Cultural Trust (EDLCT). The funding still comes from the Council, but EDLCT provides the service according to a service agreement. As we understand the situation, the closure proposal has not as yet been put to East Dunbartonshire Council and there is therefore no response that we can report.

If you use Lenzie Library and have views on the possibility of closure, it would be reasonable to communicate these views to the Ward Councillors for Lenzie and South Kirkintilloch. If you are using email for this, you could send a copy of your message to Lenzie Community Council at lenziecommunitycouncil8@gmail.com. We will update this post when we have more information.
